Host City: Hyatt Regency Phoenix

The Hyatt Regency Phoenix is the conference venue hotel. It is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix and across the street from the Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center, the site of INTELEC 2000. It is here that we shall have our easily accessible Spouse Meeting Room as well as meeting space for selected events.

Driving directions from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, 6 miles away: take 24th Street exit north to Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington (one way). Follow to 2nd Street and turn right. The hotel entrance is 1 ½ blocks on the left. There is a charge to park your car at the hotel.

A shuttle ("SuperShuttle") can be taken for the 10-minute trip from Sky Harbor Airport to the hotel without prior reservation at the rate of $6 per person (which was the posted rate in September 1999). The typical taxi charge is $15 per trip.

This site also provides the capability to check room availability and to make on-line room reservations (after November 1, 1999). The INTELEC conference has been assigned the "SRC code" (55110) which must be entered in the indicated space on the on-line form to receive the discounted conference room rates. The conference rates are applicable from September 7, 2000 through September 17, 2000 and are:

Single occupancy: $169.00
Double occupancy: $169.00
Triple occupancy: $184.00
Quadruple occupancy: $199.00

These rates are subject to the state, local and occupancy taxes in effect at the time of the conference; these taxes are currently (September 1999) 10.57% per room night. Reservations must be made before Friday, August 20, 2000 to receive the rates above. Reservation requests received after this date will be accepted on a space- and rate-availability basis. A deposit of the applicable one-night rate plus tax is required to reserve a room, either by credit card (on-line or by telephone) or by check. The deposit is due no later than 14 days after the room is confirmed by the Hotel, but no later than the Friday, August 20, 2000 cut-off date. The hotel must receive cancellations at least 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival for a fully refundable deposit, otherwise a cancellation fee of one-night's room/tax will be charged.
