The day begins with a guided tour of the famous mansion, The Breakers. Built for Cornelius Vanderbilt, the 70-room estate was designed after an Italian Renaissance Palace. A tour guide will narrate along scenic Ocean Drive and down Bellevue Avenue where the rich and famous lived in their “summer cottages”. The charming downtown wharf area is full of shops to explore and restaurants to consider for lunch on your own on this afternoon before returning to Providence by motor coach.

A motor coach will take guests to the Connecticut shoreline today to enjoy one or more of the interesting sites in Mystic. The first scheduled stop is at the Mystic Marinelife Aquarium where there are more than 3,500 sea creatures in exhibitions including Seal Island and Penguin Pavilion. Adjacent to the Aquarium is Olde Mystik Village with specialty stores and restaurants in a colonial New England setting. The motor coach will also make a stop at the Mystic Seaport Museum, which covers 17 acres and features historic homes, shops and trade buildings representative of life in a seaport. Both the Seaport and the Olde Mystik Village have places to enjoy lunch on your own. The motor coach will shuttle between the Aquarium and Seaport at the following times:

Shuttle from Aquarium to the Seaport at 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Shuttle from Seaport to the Aquarium at 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
