It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to beautiful and sunny San Diego for the 30th anniversary of INTELEC. When Dr. Joseph Suozzi and his colleagues started this focused technical conference in 1978, few envisioned the myriad of changes that would occur in the communications industry and the innovations that have developed in power systems for communications. INTELEC has always highlighted the technical advances, innovation, and quality issues within our industry and used forums to discuss controversial issues in our technology.

INTELEC 2008 will again feature the latest technology and also take a look back at the differences between energy systems and their components as they were in 1978.
